Erdenheim Elementary School Dedication By Veronica P.
Erdenheim held its school dedication on Sunday, November 14, 2010. All of Springfield’s community was invited to see our new school. Fifth Graders were tour guides and the band and choir performed a song and said the school pledge. Mrs. Bradley and other guest speakers gave speeches about the new building. The community watched a video which showed the progress of the construction of the building. The highlight of the night was when Mr. Johnston opened the time capsule which was buried back in 1955, the year the first Erdenheim was built. Inside the capsule was a bond for $130,000. That was the cost of building back then. The capsule also had a map of Springfield Township and a copy of the Sunnybrook-Oreland Newspaper. After the ceremony all guest were invited to have refreshments in the cafeteria. As you can see, the dedication was a great event!
